It can be hard to afford everything you and your kids need, but check this out: there’s going to be free dental care for low-income kids ages 1-18 on Saturday, February 23rd. They’ll be doing dental screenings, sealants, fluoride and x-rays. The event is happening at the Interfaith Dental Clinic, 220 Unity St., Bellingham, between 8am and 4pm. The WHO Scholarship was designed to make higher education accessible to promising members of our community. The scholarship is for residents of Whatcom and Skagit County. The minimum award is for $1,000. The deadline is March 2nd and the application is attached complete with instructions on how to apply.
The WCC Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will be offering free income tax preparation services to the community beginning on Monday, February 11. Our hours of service are from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Mondays as well as from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon and 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays.
