WCC Event Raises Awareness of Human Trafficking

humantraffickingheinertheatreJoin fellow community members to gain awareness of the realities of human trafficking at Not in Our Community! Sex Trafficking in the Northwest, a free event coordinated by WCC’s Social Sciences Department.  This community centered program will be held February 5th from 7-8:30 p.m. in Whatcom Community College’s Heiner Theatre.  A panel of community members who will speak on the subject will include Aaron Newcomb, co-founder of Engedi Refuge, Karen Marion of Whatcom Coalition Against Trafficking, and Ferndale resident and NFL quarterback Jake Locker.  The program will include a screening of anti-trafficking documentary Chosen, and will encourage audience questions and participation.  Please join us for this important and educational event!
